Virgin Galactic to reach space in 'weeks not months'

Richard Branson says Virgin Galactic will be in space 'within weeks not months

Tesla CEO Elon Musk's firm SpaceX, Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin are all vying to be the first companies to send up the first commercial space flight. "We should be in space within weeks, not months".

'We will be in space with people not too long after that so we have got a very, very exciting couple of months ahead, ' he added.

Sir Richard said that learning the art of delegation might address Musk's "one flaw" - his controversial Twitter rants.

To reach the Karman line, a spaceship has to cruise at an altitude of 100 kilometers above sea level. Then, in 2016, the VSS Unity, which replaced the VSS Enterprise, completed its first glide test with flying colors and completed a few more powered flight tests in April and May.

"Integrating mindfulness into our everyday lives is just as important as eating well and exercising regularly, and I am so excited to see Virgin Australia deeply embedding mindfulness into the workplace and onboard flights", Branson said.

Branson has been working out and going through astronaut training and centrifuge training in recent months to prepare for making the journey himself.

Saudi government planned Jamal Khashoggi hit: NY Times
She said the writer first visited the consulate on September 28 "despite being somewhat concerned that he could be in danger". The two soon agreed to marry, but in order to do so he needed to finalise his divorce with his first wife in Saudi Arabia.

"And it is up to us to produce as many spaceships as we can to cater with that demand".

Some 700 people have already paid $250,000 each for a seat on the spacecraft, and Virgin Galactic has said that the clamor for places means that anybody purchasing a ticket today will probably have to wait until at least 2021 before they can get to experience the ride of a lifetime.

Once Virgin Galactic successfully establish its commercial trips to space, Branson plans to reduce the price of the ticket to around $40,000 United States dollars in the next ten years or so. The ticket price could ultimately fall to $50,000, he said.

Branson's quest for space travel started in 2004, when he won the rights to spacecraft technology of Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, who funded a venture that flew a vehicle past the edge of space three times.

"Taking care of the mental health of staff, customers, and even the wider community should be a priority for any business", Branson said.
