Celtics Not Interested In Signing Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony

The Houston Rockets are widely expected to part ways with Carmelo Anthony soon after his 10-game test run failed miserably, and if/when he enters the open market, National Basketball Association executives believe Pat Riley and the Miami Heat could come calling, according to Sean Deveney of Sporting News.

Tracy McGrady believes Carmelo Anthony should retire from the National Basketball Association.

Multiple reports have suggested the Rockets will waive the veteran forward and 10-time All-Star as soon as this weekend after finding him to be a poor fit.

Which NBA team could Carmelo Anthony land with? Spears reported that the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers could also be interested in Anthony.

Anthony has been a negative to the Rockets when he's been on the floor.

Both Anthony and front-office officials around the league are privately expressing surprise at the speed with which Houston is short-circuiting this partnership, especially after the Rockets' courtship of Anthony this summer.

"Just go ahead and let it go", T-Mac advises Melo.

"I don't want him to go through another situation like this and people are just pouring negativity on this man's negativity". Although Anthony has remained eager to play and try to contribute to the Rockets, Houston doesn't believe they can make it work. He has averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds during his time with the Rockets.

Anthony will miss third straight game on Tuesday with what the team is calling an illness, though the validity of that remains in question.

The Boston Celtics aren't interested in signing the Houston Rockets forward but nevertheless are monitoring his uncertain situation with the Western Conference power, The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn reported Tuesday, citing an National Basketball Association source.
