Cleveland Cavaliers trade George Hill to Milwaukee for Matthew Dellavedova

Cavs Re Acquire Dellavedova in Four Player Trade

But according to O'Connor, "Smith's 2019-20 salary is guaranteed for only $3.9 million, so it has some value as a trade chip".

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Bucks are sending a package of Dellavedova, John Henson and first (protected) and second round draft picks in 2021 to the Cavs in exchange for George Hill and Sam Dekker - pending league approval.

Windhorst, and ESPN's Zach Lowe cleared up the future draft pick discussion shortly thereafter.

Milwaukee acquired George Hill from the Cavaliers while also saving cap space.

Dellavedova spent his first three seasons in a Cavs uniform and was a part of the team's memorable 3-1 Finals comeback against the Golden State Warriors. "George provides us added depth and experience at the guard position, while Jason gives us another frontcourt player who can stretch the floor".

It appears that he has helped Cleveland rookie point guard Collin Sexton for when Sexton took over the starting point guard role when Hill was sidelined with a reported shoulder injury, and now on a contending team in Milwaukee, Hill won't be taking minutes away from Sexton in crunch time.

The deal came together Friday in time for teams to be able to repackage players in other trades before February's trade deadline. The Cavs have been very aggressive in looking to move out veterans for future picks, now having acquired four future selections in the past 10 days, including a trade that sent Kyle Korver to Utah.

Hill, who was acquired by the Cavaliers from Sacremento at the trade deadline last season, is now averaging 10.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

Sexton, the No. 8 overall pick in the June draft, has already heard stories about Dellavedova.

The team is still working on a trade for guard J.R. Smith, as teams like the Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly expressed interest, according to The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor.
