Google Fit update brings widgets and guided exercises this holiday season

Google Fit updated with breathing exercises and home screen widgets

Last but not least, if you're using a Wear OS smartwatch, the latest Google Fit update will provide you with a guided breathing exercise meant to help you relax between last-minute gift shopping.

The new features follow a pretty radical makeover of Google Fit, which in the past has been a bit of mix bag as far as tracking your health and fitness. Going forward, you'll be able to pin a widget, which will greatly help when you want to quickly check your Heart Points, Move Minutes or any other daily stats.

Finally, Fit will allow you to adjust the intensity of a workout when you manually add it.

This update brings a new and useful interface for logging physical activity, a new homescreen widget for easy view, and a new breathing exercise for those who own Wear OS devices.

That is exactly how we want to take it, as an opportunity for us (to) stay in the competition. "But it's not really for this game ".

With the latest update, Google Fit will also show your most recent workout right on the first screen, which could be extra motivating. You can see a GIF Google tweeted out to unveil the guided breathing feature below.

Google is rolling out somewhat of a major upgrade to Google Fit on Android and Wear OS.

Notably, the octagon and the pill-shaped element are two different widgets, but as you can see in the image, they complement each other and can easily be used as one on the same page.

The update will roll out throughout this week.
