Klopp looking for "special" Liverpool performance against Napoli

Jurgen Klopp needs a specific type of win on Tuesday night

The Reds are third in the group table, three points behind leaders Napoli and two behind PSG with a game to play, when they host Napoli on December 11.

The situation makes the meeting between the two teams an intriguing proposition but the Liverpool manager will instil a singular focus in his players: just perform to your highest level.

"If after the campaign in the Premier League (where they are the only remaining unbeaten side), so far we don't have confidence after losing one game that will be really bad".

"We do not need to make it any bigger than it is, but it is big".

"We have to defend them with all we have, we have to defend them much better than we did in Naples". So we will be better, I'm pretty sure - not only because of us but because of the atmosphere as well. "Obviously you don't want to be in the situation we could be in tomorrow where we could maybe get knocked out, but it is how it is and we are looking forward to it", continued the the towering centre-back, sounding confident. Everybody here knows how big the influence can be and that could be an advantage.

"The only thing that is clear is if we go 1-0 up then it is not like it would usually be at 1-0", he added.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he is hoping for a special Liverpool performance against Napoli in the final group stage match of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

We'll take that! Shastri praises India patience
Post tea, Kohli and Pujara took their third-wicket partnership to 71 runs, albeit it was low on strike-rate, coming off 197 balls. Australia's Josh Hazlewood celebrates taking the wicket of India's Mohammed Shami with the first ball of the day on Friday.

So, will that element of control be crucial tonight? "We will see that". That is exactly how we want to take it, as an opportunity for us (to) stay in the competition.

"But it's not really for this game".

The Napoli star was talking ahead of the crunch Champions League game on Tuesday night when he was asked his opinion on the famous atmosphere inside the Reds' cathedral.

"Now we have to show that we can really use the home advantage again".

"The league is not too important in the moment because we play tomorrow night against Napoli".

"If we speak about it and we are not a Champions League club in January/February it will not be one second an excuse for anything else", he said.

"It's all deserved so far. If not, we have to accept it".
