S. Korea's Moon: Trump wants to grant Kim Jong Un's wishes

Ms Ri announces the news on a big screen in front of Pyongyang railway station

Moon emphasised the impact Kim's presence in South Korea would have on the two nations.

Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Monday to take concrete steps toward complete denuclearisation and gain the trust of the global community if he wants sanctions lifted.

South Korea's President Moon Jae-in says U.S. President Donald Trump told him he has a "very friendly view" of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and wants to grant his wishes if he denuclearizes.

Moon is now pushing for Kim to visit Seoul before the end of the year, in what would be the first official visit from a North Korean leader to the capital since the end of the Korean War.

Asked if the meeting would take place in the U.S., Trump said that it may happen at "some point", although diplomats are now looking at three other locations for the next summit.

"This will be the first time that a North Korean leader will visit South Korea so, although there is no time frame set for that, still that's very meaningful", Moon said.

Instead, the second Trump-Kim meeting will be where a "verifiable plan" to disclose the sites and weapons must be reached, Pence said.

Virat Kohli absolutely belts them in the Adelaide nets. "I have enjoyed my cricket here", he further said. India will kick-start their Test campaign against Australia from December 6 at the Adelaide Oval.

Ardern said New Zealand will soon allow smoother immigration procedures for visitors from South Korea and plans to improve pension portability between the two countries.

The two leaders signed a vaguely worded document on denuclearisation of the peninsula, but progress since has stalled as Washington and Pyongyang spar over the meaning of the document.

North Korea has also not made any concrete moves towards irreversibly dismantling any of its weapon programs, with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo previously announcing the DPRK was still producing fissile material.

The pair "reaffirmed their commitment to achieving the final, fully verified denuclearisation" of North Korea, Trump's spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said.

"We remain unchanged in our stance that (Kim's visit) will be possible and necessary before the end of this year", Baik Tae-hyun, a foreign ministry spokesman, said in a press briefing.

Trump, who met Kim in Singapore in June, said on Saturday that he is likely to meet the North Korean leader for a second time in January or February, with three sites for their meeting under consideration. The statement said Xi and Trump 'agreed that great progress has been made with respect to North Korea'.

Three sites are being considered, he added.
